Buckingham Terrace Medical Practice

HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Consultations are made by appointment and this can be arranged either in person or by telephoning 211 6210 between 8.45am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Each day, emergency appointments are available for problems which you feel cannot wait until the next routine appointment. If you are seeking an emergency appointment, please make that clear to the receptionist. Such cases will be seen by whichever doctor is available - this may not be the doctor you normally see. Also available each day are some routine appointments that can be booked on the day.

Please remember that requests for sickness certificates or certificates of absence for college or university, are not an emergency matter. They can be dealt with at the next routine appointment and will be dated as appropriate.

You are welcome to consult any doctor in the practice. If, however, you have a preference for a particular doctor, please let us know and we will do our best to meet your requirements. Please remember that it may not always be possible to see your preferred doctor or nurse. If you are consulting more than once about an ongoing problem or illness, please make sure you follow this through with the same doctor whenever possible. You may leave a message for a doctor at reception.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN HOME VISITS?

Home visits are intended for the patient who is either too ill to attend the surgery or who is housebound for any other reason. Please bear in mind that the doctor can see several patients at the surgery in the time it takes to do one housecall, so please do try to come to the surgery if at all possible. To request a housecall, please telephone 211 6220.
